Zollers Kids Rooms

We recently helped some friends of ours remodel their kids rooms. They had a tight budget, so my husband went through the garage and found remnants he could use. The girls room was 1 ft too long for the piece we brought, so we got creative. We used another remnant and installed it in the middle of the other one. It looks like a real expensive rug in the middle of the floor. LOVE IT!
Heres how the rooms turned out!

Sorry about the pics, I couldnt get a good angle. I will post some of the boys room later.

It was easy! Kind of...

I have had a ton of response to the Industrial Farm Table  that I did. Mostly I have has people asking how I did the top. Its actually 3- 2X12s Douglas Fir. Then after attaching it to the base I stained it with Dark Mahoganey stain, and quickly wiped it off. Then I sanded it, and sanded it, and sanded it. I went through 8 sheets of sand paper on my belt sander! I did sand it close to 8 times. Then I used steel wool and went over the whole thing to take out the gunk in the grooves. Then I just coated it with Polyurethane. And thats it! It was very labor intensive and my arms hurt really bad! Haha!

I think it turned out amazing! I love it...plus I did it myself and I love it even more because of that!

Industrial Farm Table

I saw a tutorial for this table at Frugal Farmhouse Design so I decided to do one of my own.

I actually have two of them, one was my first and I didnt like the way it turned out, it was too pink. My second one is a little bit longer and more rustic on top.

I have to admit it was super easy, but the labor on the top to get the finish I wanted was way more intense.

Check it out and see what you think.
This was my first one. The top turned out way too light for me.

1st table

2nd table

I love the way this top turned out. I love the dark and light contrast, it looks like barnwood with a shiny coat of poly on it.

Really cool!

Now I am on the hunt for 2 rugs. One for the living room and here in the dining room. I am thinking sisal. Tell me what you think!

**Barn Sale #2** Another Success!

For those of you who were able to make it our to the sale in Camp Verde you will agree that the sale was a success. With over more than 10 vendors this time, there was some really cool stuff. From antiques to retro and new modern things. The location was amazing! And we owe it all to Tara from Junk restore this sale was amazing. We did have wind and a couple of glass casualties but other than that, it was great!
